Rural Sociology is a diverse, interdisciplinary, applied field of study drawing on methods and theories from Sociology. Current research in Rural Sociology spans across disciplines, and includes topics such as: alternative agricultural models, environmental governance, gender studies, international development, land tenure, minority farming, rural life, social movements and the environment, and many more.
