- YOU MUST ANSWER YES YOU ARE A UW MADISON FACULTY OR STAFF! When the UW System Authorization Hub appears, change from UW-Madison to UW-Extension. Then type your UWEX CES NetID and password.

Get Articles
From database citation
- Check database citation for full-text html or pdf links.
- If no Full Text link in database:
- Click FindIt or SFX button by citation.
- In FindIt popup window, click Full Text online link.
- If no Full Text link in FindIt window:
- Check to see if your campus library has it, if not:
- Use your campus library's interlibrary loan (ILL) service to get a copy.
If known article (from bibliography, etc.)
- DEMO
- Click FindIt from here or any UW-Madison Libraries page.
- Type citation information. If you only have a Journal Title abbreviation, change Exact Match drop down to Contains and select correct journal from results.
- Click Full Text online link in FindIt popup window.
- If no Full Text link in FindIt window:
- Check to see if your campus library has it, if not:
- Use your campus library's interlibrary loan (ILL) service to get a copy.
Get Alerts
- AUTOMATICALLY get updates of search results—by topic, author, citing a favorite paper or new article citations from a journal issue-- in your email or RSS!
- Set up your own alerts with step by step instructions.
- Have a librarian set up an alert for you.
Get Books
- Use your campus library's catalog to see if it's available at your campus library.
- Use your library's UW System Search/Universal Borrowing Service to request books from other UW System libraries to be delivered in a few days to your campus library for pick up.
- OR Use your library's Interlibrary Loan Service.
- Identify books to borrow on a topic via your campus library's catalog, Universal Borrowing/UW System Search from within your library's catalog, your library's link to WorldCat, or Google Books.
Use Subject Guides
- Subject Guides, many developed with the help of CES teams, highlight useful licensed databases and web sites. (Formerly known as webographies).
Get Grants
- Visit one of the WI Centers/Collections to search the Foundations Directory or to see their most current non-circulating books on grants. Contact information, grants guides and some databases are available from the web sites below.
