How to Access License Restricted Resources
- County classified staff do not have UW-Madison ID numbers and thus cannot access licensed UW-Madison resources. The Badgerlink databases that are available to all Wisconsin residents usually answer most questions and have links to many full text articles.
- If that isn't enough, you can email or
phone Karen Dunn at 608-890-2666 M-F with a request to have a librarian
search for information on your topic for you. Identify yourself as UWEX
Cooperative Extension staff in your request.
Book / Material Loans
County classified CES staff use your local public library's interlibrary loan service to borrow materials identified in MadCat or Google Book Search.
MadCat is the computer catalog of the UW-Madison libraries. You can use it to identify books, government documents, and other materials available in more than 30 Madison campus libraries. MadCat Help.
Google Book Search lets you search full text copyrighted books and see a short excerpt from the book. In the left column, you can use the "About this Book" or "Table of Contents" to decide if you want to borrow this book from your library.
Research Guides / Websites
Websites selected by librarians, frequently in conjunction with CES teams, are available.
